Taiwan is an island that does temples and night-markets in equal measure. Taipei for the urban week. 101, Shilin night-market, the National Palace Museum's mainland-China treasures. Sun Moon Lake and Alishan for the mountain chapter. Three Taipei days, two on the lake, two for the tea-country. Best between October and April for the cooler-and-clearer weather.

Tibro has been routing Taiwan since 2020. Five years of Taipei night-market evenings, Sun Moon Lake mornings, and the Alishan cloud-sea sunrises that are the country's other postcard.
We work with a Taipei-based partner who handles the high-speed rail and the hotel logistics across the island.
Two routes is what we currently maintain. The Taipei-and-lake six-night is the most-requested; we route Alishan on the back of longer trips because the four AM start to the cloud-sea sunrise is best done after the city has slowed you.

Taipei & Sun Moon Lake, six nights, November 2024
Four Taipei nights, two on the lake. The Elephant Mountain hike on day one at the blue hour gave us 101 from the south. The postcard angle of the city. The Shilin night-market sittings the studio routed were three small stalls in a row instead of one big restaurant; the contrast was the point.

Taiwan tea-country, eight nights, March 2024
Three Taipei, two lake, two Alishan, one back in Taipei. The Alishan cloud-sea sunrise at five forty-five was the trip's loudest moment. The cloud bank below the platform and the sun coming up through the cedar trees. We came home wanting to do the high-mountain tea farms in person.
