Preface
Tahiti is the name people use for a hundred and eighteen islands, most of which are mountains the sea has not yet finished with. The water here is the subject. It changes colour through the day the way other countries change weather. We design French Polynesia as two journeys, because these islands ask to be stayed on, not collected.

Tibro has sent travellers to French Polynesia since the mid-2000s, when the overwater suites of Bora Bora and Mo'orea opened to the long-haul market. It is among the furthest places we route to from India, and we plan the days so the distance is felt once, on arrival, and never again.
We hold annual retainers with the lagoon resorts we use. Two on Bora Bora, one on Mo'orea. Rather than booking on commission. When we tell you which overwater villa is worth the difference, we have slept in both.
Our designer works between Pape'ete and the outer islands and writes the days you will spend. The lagoon excursions. The ray sandbar, the coral garden. Are arranged with local boatmen directly, not sold on as a package.
This page does not list the two journeys; those pages do, and a person sits at the end of them. Two is everything we offer in Tahiti. We would rather add a third when we have an island worth the addition.

Bora Bora & Mo'orea, ten nights, June 2025
Twenty-fifth anniversary, and we wanted the cliché. The overwater villa, the lagoon. Done properly rather than apologised for. Tibro put us on Mo'orea first, which we had not heard of, and it turned out to be the half of the trip we talk about: a boatman took us to a sandbar where rays came up to our knees, unbidden. Bora Bora after that was the postcard, exactly as promised. The villa they chose, against a cheaper one we asked about, was worth every rupee of the difference.

Tahiti & Bora Bora, nine nights, October 2024
We travelled with our two adult children and braced for a logistics headache across the islands. There was none. Every transfer, including a small inter-island flight, was handed to us on a single sheet that simply worked. Otemanu from the water at dawn is the photograph my son will not stop printing. The designer answered a question about diving certification within the hour, from a very different time zone.

Mo'orea & Bora Bora, eleven nights, August 2024
A honeymoon we had saved years for, and I was terrified of it being a let-down after the build-up. It was not. The studio paced it so the first island was quiet and green and the second was the lagoon we had dreamed about, and the order mattered more than I can explain. A handwritten note and a bottle were waiting in the villa on the night of our wedding date, which we had mentioned once, months earlier.
