Macau is a two-night Macanese chapter that almost always rides on the back of a Hong Kong trip. Largo do Senado for the Portuguese town, the St-Paul ruins for the facade-only cathedral, Coloane village for the Lord Stow egg-tart bakery. Two days for the city, ferries either side from Hong Kong. Best between October and March. The same window as Hong Kong.

    A small note
    on how we work.

Tibro has been routing Macau since 2019. Six years of two-night Macanese chapters on the back of Hong Kong trips.

We work with a Macau-side coordinator who handles the ferries and the walking routes between the Peninsula and the Cotai Strip.

Two routes is what we currently maintain. The Hong-Kong-and-Macau six-night is the most-requested; we route Macau as the second-week half because the change of pace lands soft.

Hong Kong & Macau, six nights, February 2024

Three Hong Kong nights, two Macau, one back in Hong Kong. The Macau morning at St-Paul before the day-trippers and the Coloane egg-tart afternoon were the trip's quietest hours. The Tibro ferry-and-handover on day four was the part we never had to think about.

Same shape. Three Hong Kong, two Macau, one back. The Senado Square evening with the Portuguese tiles and the Chinese skyline behind it was the photograph the trip will be remembered for.

    Tell us how many
    nights for Macau.

One question decides a Macau chapter: two nights at the Peninsula, or two nights split between Peninsula and Coloane. We route the ferry from Hong Kong both ways.
