Hong Kong is the city where the harbour is the trip. Hong Kong Island on the south, Kowloon on the north, the Star Ferry between. And at five PM you take the Peak Tram for the only view in the city that makes you forget the city. Two days for the Island, one for Kowloon, one for Lantau and the Big Buddha, and Macau on a day-trip if you want a Portuguese chapter. Best between October and March. Cooler, drier, and the harbour clearer.

Tibro has been routing Hong Kong since 2016. Nine years of harbour mornings, dim-sum sittings, Star Ferry crossings, and the Hong-Kong-and-Macau six-night arcs that travellers come back wanting to extend into the Pearl River Delta.
We work with a Sheung-Wan-based partner desk run by Aileen (originally a Hong Kong Heritage Museum coordinator) and a Macau-side partner who handles the ferry transfers and the Portuguese-tile walking routes.
Hotels in Hong Kong are a side-of-the-harbour problem. Central for the business district and the Peak Tram, TST in Kowloon for the harbour view back at the Island. We hold rooms at four properties year-round.
Three routes is what we currently maintain. The Hong-Kong-and-Macau six-night is the most-requested; we route Macau as a two-night ferry-and-stay because the day-trip is the wrong-shaped trip.

Hong Kong city, four nights, November 2024
Aileen had us on the Peak Tram at five in the afternoon on the first day. The blue hour at the top was the trip's first picture. The Sheung Wan dim-sum sitting at half-past-eleven on the second day was a small place that the staff treated us like neighbours. The Star Ferry at six PM with a one-dollar-fifty ticket and the entire skyline lit was the postcard moment we now show people.

Hong Kong & Macau, six nights, February 2024
Three Hong Kong nights, two Macau, one back in Hong Kong for the flight. Macau's old Portuguese town at first light was the surprise of the trip. Largo do Senado, the yellow facades, the egg-tart bakery on the way back to the hotel. Aileen's coordinator on the Macau side made the ferry and the walking routes feel one-trip.

Hong Kong & Pearl River Delta, nine nights, April 2024
Hong Kong, Macau, Shenzhen, Guangzhou. The Shenzhen day was a Tibro idea we had been on the fence about and the modern Chinese-architecture chapter was the trip's third surprise. Aileen's brief on what to see and what to skip on the mainland side is what made the longer trip work.
