Germany is sixteen federations stitched into one country and it shows. Berlin is the modern centre, Munich the Bavarian south, the Rhine valley the storybook middle, and the Black Forest the quietest corner. Eleven nights for the country alone; fourteen if you arc into Switzerland and Austria. Best between May and early October; December for the markets in Munich and Rothenburg.

Tibro has been routing Germany since 2015. Ten years of Berlin bases, Munich Bavarian weeks, Rhine river afternoons, and the Black Forest country chapters that turn a city trip into a country trip.
We work with a Berlin-based partner desk run by Karl (originally a Pergamon Museum researcher) and a separate Munich coordinator for the Bavarian south who handles the Neuschwanstein day-trip, the Salzburg crossover, and the Bavarian-Alps weekend.
Hotels in Berlin are a Mitte-or-Charlottenburg problem. The Mitte traditionals for the first time, the Charlottenburg quiet for the second. In Munich we use two Altstadt boutiques and one Schwabing modern. We pick by traveller.
Five routes is what we currently maintain. The Gesture of Germany eleven-night country-only is the most-requested; we route Berlin first (not Munich) because the rail south through the Rhine valley is the prettier afternoon than the Bavaria-to-Berlin reverse.

Gesture of Germany, eleven nights, June 2024
Berlin for three, Rhine for two by river boat, Munich for three, Black Forest for two, and back to Frankfurt for the flight home. Karl at the Berlin desk had us inside the Pergamon Museum at half past nine on day one with a colleague-turned-curator for the morning. That hour was the trip and the rest fell out from there. Eleven nights felt right; the country is bigger than it looks.

Switzerland & Black Forest Grand, sixteen nights, September 2024
Eight nights Switzerland, four Baden-Baden in the Black Forest, four back in Zurich for the final leg. The Baden-Baden week the studio routed around two private spa mornings and a Roman-baths afternoon was the indulgent middle we needed after the Alps. Sixteen nights is long but the studio's pacing meant we never felt the days.
