    Preface

Argentina is the southernmost country that still feels European before it feels Latin. Buenos Aires is Paris on a Sunday afternoon. With parrillas. Mendoza is the western foothills of the Andes with Malbec on every hill. Three days for the city, two for the wine country, three for Patagonia or the falls when you have ten nights. Best between October and April. Late spring through autumn, with Patagonia clearest in January-March.

    A small note
    on how we work.

    8Years of routing Argentina
    4Routes, none repeated
11 / 24Hours we tend to reply within

Tibro has been routing Argentina since 2017. Eight years of Buenos Aires nights, Mendoza wine mornings, Calafate glacier afternoons, and the Argentina-Brazil ten-night arcs that travellers come back wanting to do the other way around.

We work with a Buenos-Aires-based partner desk run by Florencia (originally a Teatro Colón backstage coordinator) and a Mendoza wine-country coordinator who has driven our travellers to the same three estates by harvest week since 2018.

Hotels in Buenos Aires are a barrio problem. Recoleta for the first time, Palermo for the second, Puerto Madero for the long-stay. We hold rooms at four properties year-round and pick by traveller.

Four routes is what we currently maintain. The Buenos-Aires-and-Mendoza seven-night is the most-requested; we route the wine days AFTER the city because arriving at a Mendoza estate with porteño manners reads well to the winemakers.

    Warmly,
The Tibro studio , Mumbai, Buenos Aires (partner), Mendoza (wine liaison)

Buenos Aires & Mendoza, seven nights, November 2024

Three Buenos Aires nights, three Mendoza, one back in BA. Florencia walked us through San Telmo on a Sunday morning and the Sunday antique fair felt like our own neighbourhood. The Mendoza wine days were the studio's three-estate sequence. Younger Malbec on day one, the cult producers on day two, the historic on day three. The progression was the point.

Patagonia south, ten nights, February 2024

Buenos Aires for three, El Calafate for four for Perito Moreno, Ushuaia for two for the end-of-the-world. The Perito Moreno walking platform Tibro had us on at six AM was almost empty and we watched a calving alone. The Ushuaia Beagle Channel boat the studio routed was a small-group sailboat instead of a tourist catamaran. That was the difference.

Argentina & Brazil, twelve nights, October 2024

Buenos Aires, Iguazú from the Argentine side, Rio. The Iguazú handover from the Argentine to the Brazilian side was the part Tibro made invisible. Florencia's coordinator at Foz had us on the boat under the Devil's Throat by nine in the morning. The continent of South America felt like one trip, not two countries stapled together.

    Tell us how many
    nights, and which second city.

Two questions decide an Argentina trip: how many nights, and which second city. Mendoza for the wine, Iguazú for the falls, El Calafate for the glacier. Florencia in Buenos Aires writes back inside the working day with hotels held on a tentative.
