This National Park was formed by including most of the forest areas of the then Venugopala Wildlife Park established under Govt. Notification dated 19th February 1941 and the area was enlarged in 1985 extending over an area of 874.20 sq. Km and named as Bandipur National Park. This reserve was brought under Project Tiger in 1973. Subsequently, some adjacent reserve forest areas were added to the reserve and extending to 880.02 Sq. Km. The present area under the control of Bandipur Tiger Reserve is 912.04 Sq. Km. An area of 39.80 Sq. Km of KFDC plantation area was handed over to this division during 2007-08. During 2010-11 the Nugu Wildlife Sanctuary was handed over to Wildlife Division, Mysore.

- On arrival to Bangalore Airport, be welcomed by our driver/representative at the airport. Embark on the 4-hour drive that takes you to Bandipur. Once you reach, check-in to The Serai and relax. Serai Nestled on the fringes of the vast forest reserve expanding over 800 sq. km of area, our resort in Bandipur attracts visitors of not only human species. Look for pugmarks and hoofprints on our pathway. Partake in a jungle safari to pay a return visit. At the evening, enjoy a Wildlife Documentary movie in the resort. Dinner and overnight stay at the resort.
- At early morning leave for Jungle Safari in Bandipur by canter. You have a chance to get real close to tigers, leopards, panthers, elephants, and other wild animals during the safari. Back to resort. Then, enjoy a Bullock Card Ride to Learn about the local way of life during the bullock cart ride towards a nearby village from The Serai Bandipur. On the way back, enjoy a picnic by the farmlands. Post Lunch, Experience a guided walk in the woods with our well-informed, in-house naturalist. Look out for parakeets, bulbuls, the rare hornbills, and more. Return to Resort. Dinner and overnight stay at the resort.
- Early morning, Take a ride on the wild side and gather knowledge of the local flora and fauna along the way. Listen to our in-house naturalist talk about the trees, the wildlife, and the various conservation efforts being undertaken in the region. Expect to cover a maximum distance of 18-20 kilometers. After that that enjoy a small session of Archery. At the evening, enjoy a private dining experience in the resort. Overnight stay.
- After a sumptuous breakfast, bid farewell to the Call of the Wild tour, as you proceed, on your own arrangements, for your onward journey.
